Meg Dowling MSc, PGCE, BA (Hons)

Meg is an HCPC registered Music Therapist and a member of the British Association for Music Therapy (BAMT).
She was a member of the Organising Committee for the European Music Therapy Conference 2022 (EMTC) and was the previous Chair of the Scottish Music Therapy Trust (SMTT)


Meg works within a person-centred approach, which is informed by psychodynamic thinking and where active music making and improvisation are often the predominant therapeutic intervention methods. She has a conscientious approach to her professional responsibilities, whilst maintaining a friendly, approachable and supportive nature.


Meg works in various settings across Devon and Somerset.
She
has established her own Music Therapy services within education settings for children, young people and young adults who are living with complex additional needs, including social, emotional and behavioural difficulties; communication and learning difficulties; visual/hearing/sensory impairments; autism spectrum conditions; complex mental health issues; trauma and adverse childhood experiences; developmental conditions; acquired brain injury; and life-limiting illness.
She also works within community, health and care settings, supporting adults who are living with dementia, Alzheimer's and Parkinson's, as well as those who have long-term mental health issues or complex additional needs.

June 2017: MSc Music Therapy (Distinction), Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh.

June 2005: PGCE in Music, Bath Spa University, Bath.         

June 2004: BA (Hons) in Music - Jazz Studies (2.1), Leeds College of Music, Leeds.
